Maria Domenica Michelotti

Maria Domenica Michelotti (born October 8, 1952 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice ) is a San Marinese politician. She was one of the two heads of state ( Capitano Reggente ) of San Marino from April 1 to October 1, 2000 .

Michelotti was a member of the Consiglio Grande e Generale , the Parliament of San Marino , from 1998 to 2006 . She was elected to parliament in 1998 on the list of Partito Progressista Democratico Sammarinese - Idea in Movimento - Convenzione Democratica (PPDS – IM – CD). The coalition of Partito Democratico Cristiano Sammarinese (PDCS) and Partito Socialista Sammarinese (PSS) broke up in March 2000 and was replaced by an alliance of PDCS, PPDS-IM-CD and Socialisti per le Riforme (SpR), which continued until the end of the legislative period Ruled in 2001. Michelotti was elected head of state ( Capitano Reggente ) together with Gian Marco Marcucci for the period from April 1 to October 1, 2000 . In the 2001 election, Michelotti moved into parliament again for the newly founded Partito dei Democratici (PdD) - an amalgamation of PPDS, Riformisti Democratici e Socialisti and Idea in Movimento. She was a member of the San Marinese delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union .

In 2005, the PdD merged with the PSS to form the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici (PSD). In the parliamentary elections in 2006 and 2008, Michelotti ran for the PSD, but failed to make it into parliament. In the 2012 election she did not run again. Michelotti was a member of the party executive and the secretariat of the PSD.

Michelotti taught at the University of San Marino and was the director of the San Marinese kindergartens (scuole dell'infanzia) . She is a member of the management of the San Marinese Equality Authority (Authority per le Pari Opportunità) .

Michelotti is widowed and has two daughters.
