Antonio Carattoni

Antonio Carattoni (born November 8, 1945 in Sant'Agata Feltria ) is a San Marinese politician.

He was a member of the board of directors of San Marino RTV and the Istituto di Credito Sammarinese.

In 2004 he was elected to the board of the Partito dei Democratici . In 2005, the PdD merged with the Partito Socialista Sammarinese to form the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici . Carattoni was a member of the party executive and the secretariat of the PSD.

Carattoni was a member of the Consiglio Grande e Generale , the Parliament of San Marino, from 1978 to 1988 and from 1993 to 1998. From 1993 to 1998 he was an observer at the Council of Europe and representative of San Marino at the OSCE. In 1998 he was a candidate on the list of the Partito Progressista Democratico Sammarinese IM-CD, which won 11 seats, but failed to get into parliament with 13th place. He did not run for the 2001 election. In 2006 he moved into parliament again as a successor on the list of the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici.

From 1983 to 1986 he was Minister for Industry and Crafts. For the period from October 1, 2006 to April 1, 2007, he was elected Head of State of San Marino ( Capitano Reggente ) together with Roberto Giorgetti .

Carattoni is married and has two children.
