crew
NASA, ESA and JAXA announced the crew for the flight on July 28, 2020. She will be part of ISS Expedition 65 .
The commander is NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough . It is his third space flight.
Crew Dragon is piloted by NASA astronaut Megan McArthur on her second space flight.
The Japanese astronaut Akihiko Hoshide and the French Thomas Pesquet were assigned as mission specialists . It is the third space flight for Akihiko and the second for Pesquet. Pesquest's mission is also called Alpha by ESA .
According to ESA, the German astronaut Matthias Maurer was a member of the replacement team.
Mission history
The start of the mission was initially planned for April 22, 2021. The day before, however, the date was postponed to April 23, because the forecast of bad weather in the Northwest Atlantic meant that the risk in the event of an emergency landing and recovery of the space capsule was assumed.
