ISS Expedition 49 is the mission name for the 49th long-term crew of the International Space Station (ISS). The mission began with the disengagement of the Soyuz TMA-20M spacecraft from the ISS on September 6, 2016 and ended with the disengagement of Soyuz MS-01 on October 30, 2016.

team

Taken over from ISS Expedition 48 :

Additionally from October 21, 2016:

About a day and a half before Soyuz MS-01 undocked with Iwanischin, Ōnishi and Rubins, Kimbrough took command of the ISS . Together with Borissenko and Ryschikow, he formed the initial crew of Expedition 50 .

Substitute team

Since Expedition 20, no official replacement team has been announced due to the permanent training for the six-person crew. Unofficially, the backup crews of the two Soyuz feeder spaceships MS-01 and MS-02 (see there) are considered substitute crews for Expedition 49. As a rule, these crews are deployed two missions later.

Freight traffic

On October 14, Progress MS-02 was disconnected from the Zvezda module after more than six months .

On October 23, the Cygnus OA-5 was coupled to the Unity module via Canadarm2.
