Mission description
The mission brought three crew members from ISS expeditions 42 and 43 to the International Space Station.
Soyuz TMA-15M paired as planned in "Express mode", i. H. arrives at the Russian ISS module Rassvet after four orbits around the earth .
After the false start of the space transporter Progress M-27M , the landing was postponed to the beginning of June, and later specified to June 11th.
Soyuz TMA-15M disconnected punctually on June 11, 2015 at 10:20 UTC with Schkaplerow, Cristoforetti and Virts on board. This marked the beginning of Expedition 44 on the ISS with Gennadi Padalka as commander. 4 minutes and 40 seconds lasting deorbit burn began at 12:51 UTC 12 kilometers away to the ISS, bringing the landing capsule at 13:21 UTC in the denser areas of the Earth's atmosphere . The braking parachute was activated at a height of 10.8 kilometers, and the huge white and orange-striped main parachute unfolded at a height of about 7.5 kilometers. The landing finally took place at 13:44 UTC 162 km southeast of Scheskasgan in good weather in the middle of the steppe of Kazakhstan .
