Mission description
The mission brought three crew members from ISS expeditions 35 and 36 to the International Space Station. The Soyuz spaceship replaced the Soyuz TMA-06M as an escape pod .
With a duration of 5 hours and 46 minutes, it was the fastest flight to the ISS to date. d. It usually took two days. This new “short scheme” became possible because the new digital on-board computer of the modernized Soyuz TMA-M spaceship works independently of the control center in Korolev and constant radio contact with the crew is no longer necessary.
On September 10, 2013 at 23:37 UTC Soyuz TMA-08M undocked with Vinogradov, Missurkin and Cassidy on board. This marked the start of Expedition 37 on the ISS with Fyodor Yurtschichin as commander. The landing took place on September 11th at 2:59 UTC 152 km southeast of Scheskasgan at 13 degrees Celsius and a cloudless sky in the steppe of Kazakhstan .
