List of manned space flights
This is a complete chronological listing of manned space flights . Both orbital and suborbital flights are included.
Since 1961 there have been a total of 330 manned space flights. Of these, 319 reached Earth orbit. Two launches were suborbital flights under the Mercury program , five flights were carried out with X-15 and SpaceShipOne rocket aircraft . There were further X-15 flights and two SpaceShipTwo flights, which are considered space flights according to the US Air Force and the FAA , but are not listed here because this list is based on the definition of the FAI , which is based on Oriented to the Kármán line . However, it contains the false starts of Soyuz 18-1 , Soyuz T-10-1 , STS-51-L and Soyuz MS-10 , three of which do not cross the boundary to space according to the FAI definition (100 km altitude), this but aimed.
Of the flights listed, 152 were Soviet or Russian, 169 US, 6 Chinese and 3 non-state. The Soviet and Russian manned spacecraft were manned by an average of 2.5 people and the US with 5.3 (The high figure is due to the fact that up to eight people flew in the space shuttle, compared to only two in the Soyuz spacecraft to three). A total of four missions had a fatal outcome, with 18 crew members killed (four Soviet, 14 US).

- Remarks
* = False start → no space flight, flight altitude of 100 km was not reached
** = emergency landing → only suborbital space flight (maximum flight altitude over 100 km) - orbital space flight was planned
† = fatal accident during the flight
The Crew column shows the number of spacemen on this mission. If two numbers are given there, a team exchange with another spaceship or a space station took place. The first number indicates the number of space travelers at take-off, the second the number at landing.
