List of manned missions to the Mir space station

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Soyuz TM-20 is docked at the bottom of the Mir , as seen from the Space Shuttle Discovery during the STS-63 mission in February 1995

This is the list of manned missions to the Mir space station . I was a very successful Soviet or Russian space station, which was launched on February 19, 1986 and deliberately slowed down on March 23, 2001 and burned up in the earth's atmosphere. It consisted of numerous individual modules that were assembled in orbit . The length of stay of the individual crews ranged from about a week to Valery Polyakov's 14-month flight from January 1994 to March 1995. Polyakov still holds the record for the longest stay in space.

Many of the crews that visited Mir use different spaceships for takeoff and landing; the first example is Alexander Wiktorenko and Muhammed Faris , who took off with Soyuz TM-3 on July 22, 1987 and landed a week later on July 30, 1987 with Soyuz TM-2 . (Without which the largest crew Space Shuttle missions of NASA counted) consisted of six astronauts. It first happened with the pairing of Soyuz TM-7 on November 26, 1988 and lasted three weeks.
