The German Society for Wood Research e. V. (DGfH) was a non-profit institution based in Munich , which had set itself the task of promoting and coordinating science and research for the entire field of wood .

history

The association had the following association purposes : Initiation, coordination and evaluation of research work, from the idea to funding programs and project support, mediation of partners and experts to technology transfer .

The association regularly distributed publications and software products, including a. the members' magazine DGfH aktuell and presented itself on the Internet (www.dgfh.de). In addition, current research results were presented and discussed at conferences, symposia and technical discussions.

Since the support from the wood sales fund was no longer available, the DGfH filed an application for short-time work on July 7, 2009 and had to apply to the Munich District Court in November 2009 to open insolvency proceedings . Business operations were discontinued on January 31, 2010, and insolvency proceedings were opened on February 12, 2010. Subsequently, the International Association for Technical Wood Issues (iVTH) in Braunschweig took over the supervision of the ongoing industrial joint research (IGF) projects : “In joint discussions, BMWi , AiF , DGfH and iVTH agreed to take over and continue the previous IGF projects at short notice DGfH through the iVTH. From December 2009, he will be responsible for the ongoing projects as well as 16 project applications already planned for 2010 as AiF research association, applicant and first-time grant recipient.
