The Holzabsatzfonds (HAF, formerly Forstabsatzfonds) as an institution under public law based in Bonn was the central marketing institution of the German forestry and timber industry until summer 2009 .

The Holzabsatzfonds had loud Holzabsatzfonds law to promote the mission of the sale and the disposal of products of the German forestry and timber industry by developing and maintaining markets at home and abroad with modern means and methods. However, the regulations stipulated in the law for the financing of the tasks of the HAF via a special charge to be paid by forestry and timber industry companies were declared null and void by the Federal Constitutional Court in May 2009 . As a result, the institution was dissolved on May 31, 2011; the timber sales fund ceased operations at the end of August 2009.

As of April 1, 2010, Zukunft Holz GmbH (ZHG) tried to take over a central wood sales promotion in Germany on an interest-financed basis. This project failed due to funding.
