Chambeshi Metals is a public company in Zambia . It is quoted on the Lusaka Stock Exchange, i.e. not traded. Its seat is in Nkana . In 2006, Chambeshi Metals is the largest cobalt extraction plant in the world.

Chambeshi Metals consists of copper and cobalt extraction, an acid factory and a slag dump. It was sold to the Anglovaal Mining Group (AVMIN) on August 28, 1998 as part of its privatization for $ 50 million and a commitment of $ 70 million and an optional $ 50 million investment . Since then, this plant has been called Chambeshi Metals.

AVMIN completed the investment within three years. The production of cobalt increased by 4,500 t and that of copper by 20,000 t. With the rising copper prices, the plant returned to profitability. Then Chambeshi Metals was sold to J & W Investment, which operates eleven mines with smelting plants and 60,000 employees in Kazakhstan .

The Luanshya Copper Mines indirectly belonged to Chambeshi Metals in 2006. Both companies are owned by J&W Investment and have the same CEO and CFO. In 2006 Chambeshi Metals was sold to an Indian investor.

In the meantime, cobalt production has increased to 7,200 t. Chambeshi Metals employs a little over 1,000 people and has at least twice as many among its suppliers. Balance sheets, production quantities in detail, etc. are nowhere shown.
