Anatoli Jakowlewitsch Solowjow ( Russian Анатолий Яковлевич Соловьёв ; born January 16, 1948 in Riga , Latvian SSR ) is a former Soviet and Russian cosmonaut . He is married and has two sons.

education

Solovyov graduated from the Lenin Komsomol Aviation College in Chernigov in 1972. He then became a pilot in the easternmost military district of the Soviet Union .

Cosmonaut

In 1976 he decided to start training as a cosmonaut. After he was accepted into the inner circle of future cosmonauts, his special cosmonaut training began in 1979. He was trained for missions with the Soyuz-T spacecraft and for the Salyut-7 and Mir space stations. From 1981 he then took part in five missions that also took him to the space stations.

With 16 spacecraft missions and a total time of 78 hours and 48 minutes in free space, Solovyov is by far the most experienced person in this work discipline.
