Order of the October Revolution
The Order of the October Revolution ( Russian Орден Октябрьской Революции / Order Oktjabrskoi Rewoljuzii ) was a civil order of the Soviet Union . Donated on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution on October 31, 1967, it was awarded to people or institutions who have made services to the Soviet Union. The order was the second highest honor after the Lenin order . It was worn on a pentagonal clasp.
Design of the order
Medals
The medal consisted of a red enameled star with a golden border and a bundle of rays. In the center of the star was a pentagon with the cruiser Aurora , from which a flag with the inscription ОКТЯБРЬСКАЯ РЕВОЛЮЦИЯ (German: October Revolution) protruded. Below the aurora was the state emblem, consisting of a hammer and sickle.
Medal clasp
On the medal clasp ( ribbon buckle ) there were five blue vertical stripes in the middle on a red background.
