Mission history

After two days of flight time, Shenzhou 11 docked with Tiangong 2 on October 18 , 2016, which has been orbiting the earth since September 15, 2016.

The two Taikonauts stayed on board the space laboratory for 30 days and performed both scientific experiments and maintenance work. The experiments are considered an important prerequisite for the construction of a permanent Chinese space station, which should be completed around 2022.

The landing took place on November 18, 2016.
