Jing Haipeng ( Chinese  景 海鵬  /  景 海鹏 , Pinyin Jǐng Hǎipéng ; born October 24, 1966 , Shanxi Province , China ) is a Chinese Taikonaut .

Jing Haipeng was a fighter pilot in the Chinese Air Force , where he completed 1,200 hours of flight, most recently as a colonel. In 1990 he completed his training at the People's Liberation Army pilot's school.

In 1998, Jing was selected as a spaceman for the Shenzhou Space Program of the Chinese Space Agency . He was one of six Taikonauts who trained for the Shenzhou 6 mission and was eventually part of the reserve crew for that flight.

On September 25, 2008, Jing took off into space with the two other Taikonauts Zhai Zhigang and Liu Boming on the Shenzhou 7 spacecraft . Shenzhou 7 was China's third manned space flight and the first to perform a space exit.

Jing was then commander of the Shenzhou 9 spacecraft , which launched on June 16, 2012 for the Tiangong 1 space station . He was the first Chinese spaceman who completed more than one space flight.

On October 16, 2016, Jing started as the commander of the Shenzhou 11 spacecraft , together with his compatriot Chen Dong , on his third mission. He and Chen spent 30 days on the Tiangong 2 space station . With this flight, Jing was the first Chinese spaceman to fly three times into space and holds the Chinese record with 47 days in space.

In July 2019, Major General Jing was transferred to the Army in Baoding, Hebei Province , where he will be deputy commander of the 82nd Army (中国人民解放军 陆军 第八 十二 集团军) effective July 22, 2019, the anniversary of the Pingjiang Uprising . , also known as "Unit 31677" (31677 部队).
