Oleg Wiktorowitsch Novizki ( Russian Олег Викторович Новицкий , born October 12, 1971 in Cherven , Minskaya Woblasz , Belarusian SSR ) is a Russian spaceman .
Astronaut activity
Novizki was selected as a spaceman in October 2006 and completed his training from 2006 to 2009. He was the commander of the Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft , which launched on October 23, 2012 for the ISS . Nowizki was the first of his training group to go on a space flight.
Nowizki started on November 17, 2016 as commander of the Soyuz MS-03 spacecraft together with NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson and French ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet for his second long-term stay at the ISS. There he worked as a flight engineer for Expeditions 50 and 51 . The return to earth took place on June 2, 2017.
