Christiane Tietz (* 1967 ) is a German Protestant theologian who works in Switzerland .

Life

Tietz studied mathematics and Protestant theology at the University of Frankfurt am Main and at the University of Tübingen . From 1997 to 2006 she worked as an assistant at the Institute for Hermeneutics at the University of Tübingen and was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD; In 2004 the habilitation followed . From 2006 to 2008 she was a Heisenberg fellow of the German Research Foundation . From 2008 she was professor for systematic theology and social ethics at the University of Mainz, where she had already held a substitute chair in 2006/2007. Since August 1, 2013, she has been Professor of Systematic Theology at the Institute for Hermeneutics and Philosophy of Religion of the Theological Faculty of the University of Zurich .

From 2008 to 2018 she was chair of the German-speaking section of the International Bonhoeffer Society , and from November 2010 to November 2013 she was a member of the EKD Council . She is a member of the Theological Committee of the Union of Evangelical Churches . She is co-editor of the journals Evangelische Theologie und Zeitzeichen and the biennial Dietrich Bonhoeffer Yearbook / Dietrich Bonhoeffer Yearbook . Since 2016 she has been the editor of the magazine Kerygma und Dogma . She is also a member of the three-person jury for the Karl Barth Prize .
