The metal sheep ( Xinwei ( Chinese  辛未 , Pinyin xīnwèi )) is the 8th year of the Chinese calendar (see table 天 支 60-year cycle). It is a term from the field of Chinese astrology and describes those lunar years that are linked by a connection between the eighth celestial stem ( , xīn , element metal and Yīn ) and the eighth earth branch ( , wèi ), symbolized by the sheep ( , yáng ), are characterized.
