The center is located in the city of Zafar in the Yemeni highlands with the royal castle Raydan at an altitude of 2800 meters about 14 kilometers southeast of today's provincial town of Yarīm . Since the new empire is off the Frankincense Route , it expands to the coast to control the sea trade at the exit of the Red Sea.
