- March 21 : Emperor Herakleios officially calls himself Basileus instead of Augustus .
- Peace agreement between the Byzantine Empire under Emperor Herakleios and the Sassanids under Great King Ardaschir III. : The Persians must return all conquered territories to Byzantium.
- After the Sassanid Empire collapsed, Jerusalem is occupied by Byzantium.
