- Harsha from the house of the Vardhana, who rose to general in the Gupta empire, becomes ruler in Thanesvar near Delhi , from where he builds a northern Indian empire in the years to come .

- February 22nd : After the death of Pope Sabinianus there is an almost one year vacancy .
- The Patriarch of Aquileia Candidianus , who resides in Grado , is looking for communion with Rome again after a separation of around 30 years . His cathedral chapter remaining in Aquileia does not join this project and elects John I as the new patriarch. Since then there have been two patriarchates , the Patriarchate of Grado ( Aquileia Nova ) with the cathedral church of Sant'Eufemia and the Patriarchate of (Old) Aquileia .
