- With the Lex Licinia Pompeia of the consuls Marcus Licinius Crassus and Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus , Gaius Julius Caesar's governorship in Gaul is extended by five years.
- Caesar secures Gaul's northeast for the Roman Empire .
- During the war against the Teutons, Caesar had a first wooden bridge built to cross the Rhine between Koblenz and Andernach in just 10 days .
