Roman Empire
- The imperium proconsulare of Augustus is extended for the first time by 5 years. The imperium proconsulare is one of the central instruments of rule of Augustus and his successors (supreme authority over the legions stationed in the endangered provinces), but it is never granted to Prince Augustus for life, but only extended by the Senate .
- 18 / v 17th BC : The first verifiable Roman bridge over the Moselle is built. The Roman city of Augusta Treverorum , today's Trier, will be built at this point over the next few years .
