- January 1st : Caesar's reform of the Roman calendar is carried out. The Roman calendar will be replaced by the Julian calendar from January 2nd . In order to bring the new calendar in line with the position of the sun, the Roman year 708 a. u. c. extended to 445 days ( kinky year ).
- Caesar becomes consul for the fourth time .
- March 17th : In the Battle of Munda / Hispania , dictator Gaius Iulius Caesar defeats the sons of Pompey . Caesar becomes sole ruler in the Roman Empire ( dictator for life).
- The Lex municipalis ("Munizipiengesetz") regulates the jurisdiction in the country towns of the Roman Empire .
