This year Gaius Julius Caesar becomes curular aedile of the city of Rome and continues to expand his popular position. So he puts the trophies of Gaius Marius back on the Capitol and strives for a politically motivated trial against the Senator Gaius Rabirius because of his involvement in the murder of the tribune Saturnius; the defense is held by Marcus Tullius Cicero .
