Appollodoto's II coin.

Apollodotos II (Greek "gift of Apollo ") was an Indo-Greek king who lived around 80 to 65 BC. Ruled.

Apollodotos II is only known from his coins, which were mainly found in Punjab , which is likely to have corresponded to his domain. Under Apollodotus II, Greek rule in India seems to have experienced a certain renaissance. The Indo-Scythians had conquered large parts of northern India by this time. Apollodotos II, on the other hand, was able to recapture parts of the country and probably even regain Taxila from the Indo-Scythians. He is one of the first Indo-Greek rulers who called himself Basileos Megalou , i.e. great king.

His coins usually show his portrait and Greek legends on the obverse, while the reverse shows an image of a standing Athena with legends in Kharoshthi . Other coins show an Apollo on the obverse, certainly as a reference to the ruler's name. One of his coins was struck by Zoilus II .
