Ingeborg Feustel

Ingeborg Feustel , née Baumann , (born January 1, 1926 in Berlin , † November 23, 1998 in Blankenfelde ) was a German writer . Her children's books and texts for radio and television achieved great popularity in the GDR , but also in the Federal Republic of Germany , and are still read today.

Life

Feustel first worked as a new teacher in Blankenfelde-Mahlow after 1945 and from 1960 worked as a freelance writer.

Her children's books are unforgettable , such as the book Antonio and Grandfather Autobus , published in 1965 , which brought millions, not just young readers, closer to the distant country of Italy.

She was also the author of a large number of children's songs, employee of the Butzemannhaus editorial team at the GDR children's radio and creator of the characters Pittiplatsch and Moppi as well as Plumps , whose programs ( A visit to Märchenland and the evening greeting in Our Sandman ) were among the most successful productions on GDR television .

She lived in Blankenfelde with her husband, the writer Günther Feustel , and was the mother of Jan-Michael Feustel .
