The Ford bank is a bank to finance Ford -cars. In addition, Germany’s oldest car bank according to self-promotion also offers other financial services.
history
Ford Bank was founded on February 22nd, 1926 as Ford Credit Company in Berlin . In 1932, the company moved to the headquarters of the automobile brand in Cologne . After an interruption due to the war, financing operations were resumed three months after the currency reform in 1948. The first branch is opened in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1962, and a few more follow. In 1965 the name was changed to Ford Credit AG . In 1975 the financial business was expanded to include vehicle insurance ; leasing has also been offered since 1977 . In 1996, the Ford Bank was one of the few credit institutions to be certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 . More than 40 percent of new vehicles are already financed through the Ford Bank. In 1998 the bank was renamed FCE Bank plc . Since 1999, the bank has been offering its dealers the option of real estate financing and time deposits. In 2002 Ford Bank cooperates with the banks of Mazda , Jaguar and Land Rover under the umbrella of Ford Financials . When the United Kingdom left the European Union, the bank was transformed into an independent legal form and has been trading as Ford Bank GmbH since 2018.

Ford Bank, which formerly employed over 1000 people (2002), had to give up the new business of its sister banks Mazda , Jaguar and Land Rover in the course of the sales of the car brands by the parent company Ford Motor and employs 482 people.
