Margot Ebert

Margot Elisabeth Ebert (born June 8, 1926 in Magdeburg ; † June 26, 2009 in Berlin ) was a German actress , presenter , dancer , entertainer and writer .

Life

Margot Ebert grew up in Hamburg . One of her first engagements was on the stage in Erfurt . In 1952 she became one of the first spokespersons for the newly founded German Television Broadcasting Corporation (DFF) and took part in many programs on Adlershof television in the GDR . She was voted TV favorite several times by its viewers .

It gained particular popularity through the series Between Breakfast and Roast Goose , which ran from 1957 to 1991 on Christmas Day in the morning program of GDR television, and which Ebert moderated together with Heinz Quermann . She was also popular because of her participation in the Maxe Baumann comedy series .

Margot Ebert was married to the actor Wilfried Ortmann until his death in 1994 . She lived until the end in Berlin, where she committed suicide on June 26, 2009. Her urn was buried on July 24, 2009 in the cemetery in Berlin-Friedrichshagen .
