Angkarn Kalayanapong

Angkarn Kalayanapong ( Thai : อังคาร กัลยาณ พงศ์ ; born February 13, 1926 in Nakhon Si Thammarat ; † August 25, 2012 in Watthana / Bangkok ) was a Thai poet and painter.

Life

He studied at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphics at Silpakorn University . He began writing in the late 1950s. In 1986 he received the SEA Write Award for Panithan Kawee . In 1989 he was named National Artist of Thailand . Angkarn also made a name for himself as a painter, among other things with drawings and the painting Prints of Himmapan . He died of heart disease and diabetes mellitus at the age of 86 .
