Antonio Cantisani (born November 2, 1926 in Lauria Superiore ) is Old Archbishop of Catanzaro-Squillace .

Life

Antonio Cantisani was ordained a priest on June 16, 1949 . Paul VI appointed him on November 18, 1971 Archbishop of Rossano .

The Bishop of Policastro , Federico Pezzullo , ordained him episcopal on December 27th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Enrico Nicodemo , Archbishop of Bari-Canosa , and Umberto Luciano Altomare , Bishop of Diano-Teggiano .

After the union of the Diocese of Cariati with the Archdiocese of Rossano, he was appointed Archbishop of this new Archbishopric on April 7, 1979. On July 31, 1980 he was appointed Archbishop of Catanzaro and Bishop of Squillace . After the union of the Diocese of Squillace with the Archdiocese of Catanzaro, he was appointed Archbishop of this new Archbishopric on September 30, 1986. On January 31, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
