Antonio Ciliberti

Antonio Ciliberti (born January 31, 1935 in San Lorenzo del Vallo , Province of Cosenza , Italy ; † April 1, 2017 ) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Catanzaro-Squillace .

Life

Antonio Ciliberti was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Rossano-Cariati on July 12, 1959 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Locri-Gerace-Santa Maria di Polsi on December 7, 1988 . He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Rossano e Cariati , Serafino Sprovieri , on January 28, 1989; Co- consecrators were Giuseppe Agostino , Archbishop of Crotone-Santa Severina , and Antonio Cantisani , Archbishop of Catanzaro-Squillace.

On May 6, 1993 John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Matera-Irsina and on January 31, 2003, Archbishop of Catanzaro-Squillace; the solemn inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on April 5 of the same year.

On March 25, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
