Salvatore Ligorio (born October 13, 1948 in Grottaglie ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Potenza-Muro Lucano-Marsico Nuovo .

Life

Salvatore Ligorio was ordained a priest on July 13, 1972 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tricarico on December 19, 1997 . The Archbishop of Taranto , Benigno Luigi Papa OFMCap , donated him episcopal ordination on February 11 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Ennio Appignanesi , Archbishop of Potenza-Muro Lucano-Marsico Nuovo , and Guglielmo Motolese , Old Archbishop of Taranto. As a motto he chose Et Verbum Caro Factum Est .

On March 20, 2004, he was appointed Archbishop of Matera-Irsina and on April 24 of the same year he was appointed to the office.

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Potenza-Muro Lucano-Marsico Nuovo on October 5, 2015. The inauguration took place on January 9 of the following year.
