Ennio Appignanesi (born June 18, 1925 in Belforte del Chienti , Macerata Province , † March 26, 2015 in Rome ) was Archbishop of Potenza-Muro Lucano-Marsico Nuovo .

Life

Ennio Appignanesi was ordained a priest on April 8, 1950 .

Pope . John Paul II appointed him on 20 December 1980 titular bishop of Themisonium as well as auxiliary bishop in Lucera and donated him on 6 January 1981 in St. Peter's Basilica , the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were Giovanni Canestri , Auxiliary Bishop in Rome , and Belchior Joaquim da Silva Neto CM , Bishop of Luz . On September 15, 1983, he was appointed Bishop of Castellaneta .

On July 3, 1985 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Rome with the personal title of titular archbishop of Lorium . On January 21, 1988 he was appointed Archbishop of Matera-Irsina. On January 19, 1993 he was appointed Archbishop of Potenza-Muro Lucano-Marsico Nuovo. On January 9, 2001, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation due to reasons of age. He was a canon of St. Peter in Rome.
