Belchior Joaquim da Silva Neto CM (born November 7, 1918 in Araújos , Minas Gerais , Brazil ; † May 24, 2000 ) was Bishop of Luz .

Life

Belchior Joaquim da Silva Neto joined the Congregation of the Vincentians at and received on 8 December 1945, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 13, 1960 Pope John XXIII appointed him . the titular bishop of Cremna and Coadjutor Bishop of Luz. The coadjutor archbishop of Belo Horizonte , João Resende Costa SDB , donated him episcopal ordination on April 24th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Assis , José Lázaro Neves CM, and the Bishop Emeritus of Caratinga , João Batista Cavati CM.

On July 9, 1967, Belchior Joaquim da Silva Neto succeeded the late Manoel Nunes Coelho as Bishop of Luz. On May 18, 1994, Pope John Paul II accepted Belchior Joaquim da Silva Neto's resignation due to reasons of age.

Belchior Joaquim da Silva Neto attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
