Martino Scarafile

Martino Scarafile (born July 1, 1927 in Cisternino , Brindisi province , Italy ; † December 27, 2011 in Palagianello , Taranto province ) was Bishop of Castellaneta .

Life

Martino Scarafile was ordained a priest for the diocese of Monopoli on July 23, 1950 .

Pope . John Paul II appointed him on 20 December 1980 titular bishop of Rotaria as well as auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Conversano-Monopoli and donated him on 6 January 1981 in St. Peter's Basilica , the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were Giovanni Canestri , Auxiliary Bishop in Rome , and Belchior Joaquim da Silva Neto CM, Bishop of Luz .

On October 31, 1985 he was appointed Bishop of Castellaneta. On February 14, 2003, John Paul II accepted his resignation due to reasons of age.

Martino Scarafile was Prior of the Castellaneta Commandery of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .
