history

The diocese Teggiano-Policastro was on September 21, 1850 by Pope Pius IX. established with the Apostolic Constitution Ex quo imperscrutabili from cession of territory by the Diocese of Capaccio as the Diocese of Diano-Teggiano . On 30 September 1986 the diocese Diano Teggiano was by the Congregation for Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis the Diocese of Policastro affiliated.

The diocese of Teggiano-Policastro is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno as a suffragan .
