The Archdiocese of Amalfi-Cava de 'Tirreni ( lat. : Archidioecesis Amalphitana-Cavensis , ital. : Arcidiocesi di Amalfi Cava de' Tirreni ) is one in Italy located Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Amalfi .

history

In the 6th century the diocese of Amalfi was established. In 987 it was established by Pope John XV. raised to the archbishopric. The dioceses of Scala , Minori , Lettere and Capri were subordinated to the Archdiocese of Amalfi as suffragan dioceses .

The dioceses Minori and Scala were dissolved on June 27, 1818 by Pope Pius VII with the Apostolic Constitution De ulteriori and their territory was annexed to the Archdiocese of Amalfi. On 30 September 1986 the Archdiocese of Amalfi was the Congregation for Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis the diocese Cava affiliated. The Archdiocese of Amalfi-Cava de 'Tirreni is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno as a suffragan.
