The Diocese of Teano-Calvi ( lat. : Dioecesis Theanensis-Calvensis , ital. : Diocese of Teano-Calvi ) is in Italy situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Teano .

history

The diocese of Calvi was established in the 5th century . On August 14, 966 it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Capua as a suffragan . The diocese of Calvi was annexed to the diocese of Teano on June 27, 1818 by Pope Pius VII with the Apostolic Constitution De utiliori .

The diocese of Calvi and Teano was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Naples as a suffragan on April 30, 1979 . On September 30, 1986, the diocese of Calvi and Teano was renamed the diocese of Teano-Calvi by the Congregation for the Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis .
