Giacomo Cirulli
Giacomo Cirulli (born September 25, 1952 in Cerignola , Foggia province , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Teano-Calvi .
Life
Giacomo Cirulli graduated from the University of Naples Federico II in 1981 with a degree in medicine and surgery . He then became an alumne at the Almo Collegio Capranica in Rome and studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University . On December 7, 1982, Cirulli received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano . In 1984 he graduated from the Pontifical Biblical Institute with a degree in Biblical Exegesis .
In 1984 Giacomo Cirulli became pastor of the parish of Sant'Antonio di Padova in Cerignola. In addition, he was director of the diocesan Caritas association from 1988 and from 1994 to 1996 delegate for Caritas in the church region of Apulia . In addition, Cirulli was active as a religion teacher in Cerignola from 1985 to 1991 and from 1992 to 1996 director of the Association of Catholic Doctors. From 1996 to 2001 he was Regens of the Seminary of the Diocese of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano and Episcopal Vicar for the formation of the clergy and responsible for vocational pastoral care . Cirulli was also a member of the college of consultors and the council of bishops from 1998 to 2001 . He was also chairman of the board of directors of the Solimine diocesan holiday home in Cerignola from 1994 to 2004 .
In 2001 Giacomo Cirulli became pastor of the parish Beata Vergine Maria Addolorata in Orta Nova , dean and exorcist of the Diocese of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano. In addition, Cirulli taught Biblical Exegesis at the Facoltà Teologica Pugliese in Bari until 2011 . In 2012 he became Episcopal Vicar for Culture and again a member of the Bishops' Council. Since 2015 Cirulli has also been the coordinator of the exorcists of the Apulia region and since 2016 Vicar General of the Diocese of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano.
On September 14, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Teano-Calvi. The Bishop of the Diocese of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano, Luigi Renna , donated him episcopal ordination on December 7th of the same year in the Cathedral of Cerignola . Co- consecrators were the bishop emeritus of Cassano all'Jonio , Nunzio Galantino , and the bishop emeritus of Cerignola-Ascoli Satriano, Felice di Molfetta . The inauguration in the diocese of Teano-Calvi took place on December 27, 2017.
