Matteo Visioli

Matteo Visioli (born July 20, 1966 in Parma , Italy ) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and canon lawyer .

Life

Matteo Visioli graduated from high school Gian Domenico Romagnosi in Parma in 1985 and then studied philosophy and Catholic theology at Studio Teologico Saveriano in Parma, where he obtained a Baccalaureato in Catholic theology in 1991 . Visioli received on 9 May 1992, the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1994 he obtained a licentiate in fundamental theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and a licentiate in canon law in 1996 and a year later a specialization in jurisprudence. In 1999 he was in Canon Law doctorate .

From 1999 to 2008 Visioli was Episcopal Vicar for tasks of the universal Church. In addition, from 2001 to 2008 he was a member of the Committee on Church Enterprises and Goods of the Italian Bishops' Conference . From 2005 to 2010 Visioli was pastor of the parish of San Prospero in Collecchio . On October 13, 2009 he became President of the Caritas Children Onlus and on October 15, 2010 he was Episcopal Vicar for pastoral care.

In addition, Matteo Visioli has been professor at the Istituto Interdiocesano Superiore di Scienze Religiose San Ilario di Poitiers in Parma since 2005 and its director since May 1, 2011. Visioli has also taught legal theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome since 2008 and at the Facoltà di Diritto Canonico San Pio X of the Studium Generale Marcianum in Venice since 2011 .

On 14 September 2017 it appointed Pope Francis to the Under Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith .
