Collecchio is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 14,713 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Parma in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 10 kilometers southwest of Parma on the Taro .
The community is one of the sports centers in Parma. In 1991 Collecchio was the stage of the Giro d'Italia . The community became known as the headquarters of the Parmalat food company , which went bankrupt in 2003/2004 and has been a joint stock company in the grocery business again since 2005.

The municipality is crossed by Strada Statale 62 . There is a train station in the main town and in Ozzano Taro on the railway line from Parma to La Spezia ( Ferrovia Pontremolese ).
