Compiano is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1089 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Parma in Emilia-Romagna and is a member of the association I borghi più belli d'Italia (The most beautiful places in Italy). The municipality is located about 63 kilometers southwest of Parma on the Taro and belongs to the Comunità montana Valli del Taro e del Ceno .

The patrician Ubertino Landi from Piacenza bought the castle of Compiano and the neighboring castle of Bardi in 1257 . The Landi were raised to Marchesi (margraves) by Emperor Charles V in 1551. After the local branch died out in 1682, their property fell to the Farnese , Dukes of Parma.

The former Strada Statale 359 di Salsomaggiore e di Bardi (now a provincial road) leads through the municipality from Fidenza to Bedonia .
