Sala Baganza is an Italian commune with 5716 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Parma in the Emilia-Romagna region and is 90 km northwest of Bologna and twelve kilometers southwest of Parma. One of the local attractions is the castle of the Sanvitale family , built in 1454 , which fell to the Duchy of Parma, the Farnese , in 1612 and can be visited today.
The city is the seat of well-known and globally active companies, such as the fashion company Coccinelle and the packaging specialists Berchi and Procomac . There are also around 30 companies in the meat industry , particularly producers of Parma ham and salami .
