Traversetolo is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9582 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Parma in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 18 kilometers south-southeast of Parma . The municipality is located west of the Enza and borders directly on the province of Reggio Emilia .
history
Traversetolo is first mentioned in a document on March 18, 991. In 1558 the fortress was destroyed by Ottavio Farnese.
