Torrile is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 7751 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Parma in Emilia-Romagna . The municipality is located about 13.5 kilometers north of Parma between the Taro and Parma rivers . The administrative center of the municipality is in the district of San Polo.

Economy and Transport

The sportswear manufacturer Erreà is based in Torrile, as is the Italian branch of GlaxoSmithKline . In San Polo, the municipality's train station is on the Parma – Brescia railway line .

Attractions

The Pieve di San Giovanni Battista in the district of Gainago Ariana from 1144 contains important frescoes from the 12th and 13th centuries. The Oasi di Torrile is a nature reserve with about 32 hectares.
