history
The diocese of Cassano all'Jonio was established in the 5th century. In the 11th century the diocese of Cassano all'Jonio was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Reggio Calabria as a suffragan . On January 30, 2001, the Diocese of Cassano all'Jonio was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cosenza-Bisignano as a suffragan.
