The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lamezia Terme ( lat. : Dioecesis Neocastrensis , ital. : Diocese of Lamezia Terme ) is in Italy situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Lamezia Terme .
history
The Nicastro diocese was established in the 6th century. It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Reggio Calabria as a suffragan .
On July 5, 1818, Pope Pius VII annexed the Diocese of Nicastro with the Apostolic Constitution De utiliori, the territory of the dissolved Diocese of Martirano . The Diocese of Nicastro was on 30 September in 1986 by the Congregation for Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis in Diocese of Lamezia Terme renamed. The diocese of Lamezia Terme was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Catanzaro-Squillace as a suffragan on January 30, 2001 .
