The Roman Catholic Diocese of Mileto-Nicotera- Tropea ( lat. : Dioecesis Miletensis-Nicotriensis-Tropiensis , ital. : Diocese of Mileto-Nicotera-Tropea ) is in Italy situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Mileto .
history
The Diocese of Mileto-Nicotera-Tropea was established as the Diocese of Mileto in the 11th century . In 1093, Pope Urban II made the diocese of Mileto directly subordinate to the Holy See with the Apostolic Constitution Potestas ligandi .
Since December 21, 1973, the Diocese of Mileto and the Diocese of Nicotera-Tropea were administered in personal union. On September 30, 1986, the Diocese of Nicotera-Tropea was annexed to the Diocese of Mileto by the Congregation for the Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis .
The Diocese of Mileto is now subordinate to the Archdiocese of Reggio Calabria-Bova as a suffragan .
