The Roman Catholic Diocese of Vallo della Lucania ( lat. : Dioecesis Vallensis in Lucania , ital. : Diocese of Vallo della Lucania ) is one in Italy located Roman Catholic diocese headquartered in Vallo della Lucania .

history

The diocese of Vallo della Lucania was established in the 12th century as the diocese of Capaccio . On September 21, 1850, the Diocese of Capaccio gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Diano-Teggiano . The diocese of Capaccio was on July 16, 1851 by Pope Pius IX. renamed with the Apostolic Constitution Cum propter iustitiae dilectionem in the Diocese of Capaccio-Vallo .

The diocese of Capaccio-Vallo was renamed the Diocese of Vallo di Lucania on November 24, 1945 . On September 30, 1986, the diocese Vallo di Lucania was renamed by the Congregation for Bishops in Diocese Vallo della Lucania . The diocese of Vallo della Lucania is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno as a suffragan .
